There are many ways to serve the Lord every week through our church. Below are a couple of ways that you can get involved.
Member Care
Coffee and Cookies Fellowship
Volunteer to bring & setup the cookies & coffee table before Sunday school, or after church on days where we have cookie hour after service.
Greeters
Greet people, pass out bulletins, and show new people where to go on Sundays.
Worship
Liturgist
Lead worship by reading the call to worship, scripture, and announcements. This opportunity is very simple, but requires a little bit of training.
Usher
Help out people who have questions, and pass around the offering plates during offering.
Soundboard
Operate the video cameras along with the PowerPoint. Once again, this opportunity is very simple, but requires a little bit of training.
Music
Have a special talent such as organ, piano, or vocals? Sign up for special music and share your gift during the service.
Christian Education
We are always welcoming new adults who want to make connections with the children of our church. Weekly, monthly and substitute volunteer positions are available. A love of God and a heart for children are the main requirements.
Junior Church
The children and volunteers leave worship after the Lord's Prayer. Each week, we share joys and concerns, pray and then read a story from a children's Bible, wonder about the story together. The children then are given a choice of ways to extend the story through play and encouraged to fellowship with each other in the early childhood classroom. You can view a sample lesson here.
Sunday School
Our Sunday School is growing and we welcome new teachers and helpers in our Sunday School classrooms. We have a class for preschoolers through 2nd grade (early childhood), an intermediate class (3rd-middle school), and a high school and beyond class.
We currently have one Sunday School class for adults but welcome ideas about and leaders for exploring specific topics.
One Time Events
Many events happen yearly such as Trunk or Treat, Paint and Praise, Game Night, the Children's Christmas Program. Many hands are always needed for set up, food preparation, leadership, and clean up. Watch the bulletin and newsletter for dates and sign up information or contact the church office.
Volunteers with children in the United Methodist Church are required to complete the Safe Gatherings training and background check.
